Terms of Service

1. Purpose

These terms set out the conditions for using Novel Studio (the “Service”) provided by SEOKYOUNGRYU (the “Operator”), and the rights and obligations of the Operator and users. If the Korean and English versions differ, the Korean version prevails.

2. The Service

The Service provides tools for planning and writing fiction (settings, plots, manuscripts) and AI writing features powered by Google Gemini. It is currently offered as a free beta, and features may change with notice.

3. Accounts

• You can create an account by logging in with Google or Kakao. Basic features work without an account.
• You must be at least 14 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to create an account.
• You can delete your account at any time on the Account page. Deleting it removes the stories stored in the cloud.

4. Your stories

• You own the stories you write with the Service. We use them only as needed to store, sync, and display them for you.
• Legal rights in AI-generated text and any duty to disclose AI use depend on applicable law and the policies of the platforms where you publish; checking them before publishing is your responsibility.

5. AI features

• AI features are provided by the Operator. Visitors without an account get one trial; logged-in users get a fixed number of requests per day. Data is processed under Google’s terms.
• To prevent abuse we may change usage limits, and we may restrict or suspend AI features in some regions (currently unavailable in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland).
• AI output may be inaccurate or inappropriate; you decide whether to use it.

6. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

• write or distribute content that infringes copyright or other rights of others
• generate content prohibited by law (including child sexual abuse material, defamation, or other illegal content)
• interfere with the Service (excessive automated requests, exploiting vulnerabilities, etc.)
• use another person’s account

7. Changes and discontinuation

During the beta we may change features or discontinue the Service, announcing important changes in advance. If we shut the Service down, we will give at least 30 days’ notice so you can export your stories.

8. Limitation of liability

• The Service is a free beta provided “as is”. We recommend backing up important stories with the export feature.
• Except for intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for data loss, AI output, or outages of external services such as Google. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

9. Paid plans

If we introduce paid plans, we will announce prices, billing, and refund terms in advance, and you will only be charged with your consent.

10. Changes to these terms and disputes

We will announce changes at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavorable to you). These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without prejudice to mandatory protections of your country of residence.
